Brittany Berrens reports. ////// In a visit to Superior this morning, Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton says money might be tight, but there are new loan opportunities available through the Small Business Association. "If the strategies of the SBA work, this is going to make a real difference. I feel like part of the state gets buffeted more. It's sort of like the back end of a train; it swings harder. The small businesses are essential here. There's no need for them to struggle if there's this kind of help available." Douglas County has an unemployment rate of nine percent, a little bit higher than the state rate of 8.7%. So Lawton stressed says it's important to get northwestern Wisconsin back to work. "The state's economy will not be stable and will not be sustainable in growth unless every part of the state is thriving. So this northwestern corner is very important to us. And it also is a part of the state that really depends on the network of small businesses for its regional economy, so it was very important for me to get here to let those businesses know that there is help and there's opportunity for growth. This is precisely where we would like to see tremendous participation in the opportunities now available."
