If you have a credit balance then you will be sent a check for the excess or if you completed the Direct Deposit Authorization form your funds will be direct deposited into your account on September 1, 2009. Your classes will be held if you are awarded financial aid at your credit level and/or have applied for your loan funds. If you plan on using your loan funds that you were awarded to pay your bill or charge your books, you must complete loan entrance counseling and the loan promissory note application. The instructions to apply for loans are in your award letter. It is a two step process which requires your federal PIN number. The first step is to complete Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling online at: www.mappingyourfuture.org . Your bill has been deferred, or in other words, delayed from being billed until your financial aid comes in. Your bill will be due on August 31. If you have more money in your account after August 31 than your bill cost (or on other words, if your FA is 3000 and your bill is only 2500) then you will be given a check with what's left over. If you receive any financial aid and you selected direct deposit, your bill will be paid on Sept. 1, and any remaining balance you will then have to pay. Make sure you do your loan entrance counseling if you applied for loans through financial aid. Your FA office can tell you how to do this, it's usually online and it's easy. You read the rules, then take a little quiz to make sure you understand the rules. Your Federal PIN is what you get when you apply for Stafford loans or grants. I would recommend contacting your FA office of your college and speak with a counselor to make sure you understand how it works- and so you don't miss any important steps.

From what this says, it sounds like your aid is being held til August 31st but you will still be able to atend classes. sometimes (especially fall semesters) the school has so many applications it may take them longer to process them all and allow more time. have you talked to your financial aid office at your school? that would be better if ou could talk to them and sometimes they will talk to you about it over the phone too. good luck!
